Congress in general and politicians in particular, pull out all the stops when it comes to apologizing for not stopping the invasion of our country. First they swore the invasion could not be stopped. Then they swore there weren't that many of them. Then they swore they weren't doing that much damage. Then they stepped up the pressure and passed laws to protect the invaders. When that still wasn't enough they merged facts so not even the CIA can decipher who is lying to whom so that now you'll even find illegal aliens working for the FBI and assorted other "security risk" jobs. Let me play the part of prophet here and predict what the next step will be. Ah, here it comes, clear as a bell. The next step will be to claim that by trying to stop illegal aliens from invading our country we will be endangering an endangered species, like a three toed bat or maybe a legless lizard. |

Before you burst into gusts of hysterical laughter on me let me add that it has already happened. There really are voices being raised to insist that US remove the fences along our southern border because, drum roll, please those fences are keeping jaguars from entering our country. That's right, page 85 of the November issue of The Smithsonian in the year 2007.SERIOUSLY asks the question: How Will The Crackdown on Illegal Immigrants affect the big cats? I won't deal with the question of why we want jaguars infiltrating our country, lest I be shot as an animal hater. Nor will I ask who WE is. The question I start off asking is: How do we KNOW jaguars even want to be in our country? Well, the Smithsonian article has an answer to that question. They respond that they know jaguars want to invade our country because they are already infiltrating our perimeter. There is at least one and perhaps three of these South American cats with the long claws already spotted in the United States. On February 20th in 2006 Warner Glenn and his daughter were leading a mountain lion hunt when one of their dogs came up with a gaping hole in its neck and shoulder. Warner's other dogs treed the varmint that did the damage and it was a jaguar. Warner got too close and the jaguar attacked. Only his dogs saved him. Naturally he is insisting that the jaguars be protected and the Arizona Game and Fish Department, along with other government agencies are moving heaven and earth to find out the exact number of jaguars they have to protect, So, before we go any farther, let's make sure you understand what I do here. These people aren't satisfied with all the damage being done in that region by the illegal aliens invading our country; now they want to make it easy for jaguars to invade us too by tearing down the fences that might keep out a few of the two to three million illegal aliens that get through our defenses every year. Okay, let's assume that for reasons unknown to normal people that jaguars are needed in the US. It would make FAR MORE SENSE if we build these fences twice as high so we can MAKE the jaguars stay on our side of the border. If we ever do need more jaguars on this side we can let the illegal aliens know it is their civic duty to drag one across in each hand when they come. |
