I always tell them, “It’s great! Why don’t you start one?”

If you really want to start a home-based business, don’t just say you “can’t” without getting information. Exactly what things do you think you can’t do and why?
Instead of saying “I can’t” DO something, ask yourself “How can I do it?” You can do this: it’s not difficult, but you do have to start!
Do you cringe at the word “plan”?
Don’t!
Your plan is not a lifetime commitment, and it doesn’t have to be fancy either.

All you need to do at this point in your planning is figure out what you want to do and decide if it’s “doable”. I think you’ll be surprised at what you find out in the course of making your plan. The good news is that your research will probably cost you nothing but time.
To start your plan, decide what kind of business you want to be in.
That means it is time for some introspection; it is time to make some lists.
What do you like to do?
And maybe just as important: what don’t you like to do?
What do you like to think about?
What do you like to talk about?
Hey, let's get wild here . . Golf? Gardening? Travel?
Okay. Great. Now combine the items on your list and think of a service or product you could offer to others like yourself.
Whatever you decide to do should be FUN for you.
Do NOT EVER pick a business solely for the money potential;
money won’t make you happy.
That may be hard to believe, but trust me on this one. Your chances for success are far greater if you do something that you enjoy. Money will make you comfortable, but it won’t make you happy. Do something you enjoy and do it better than anyone else, and the money will follow.
Yes, starting your own business is easy,
but you DO have to make a start!
If you think you can’t, I say “Baloney!”

Make Money as a Fundraiser. I am much more ambivalent about presenting this book. However, I'm also sure this is one book you will definitely want to keep around so save it to a safe place. The first third is nothing but a pitch for a traffic generating system. How good that system is I don't know and don't intend to find out. However, the other two thirds of the book is the genuine article. It is full of hard-hitting information that will launch your career in fundraising right to the top. So, I am including the book, but suggest that you use the scroll bar on the right hand side and go down one third of the way before you ever begin reading.
