| We had a 5.3 earthquake yesterday and the very
first assertion heard on the news was that it must
have been caused by Global Warming! Good old Global Warming is the “culprit of choice” for any disaster impending our society today. It is being said that the “last 3 decades have been the warmest period in history.” I refute that statement and all those like unto it. First of all since heat measuring devices of any accuracy weren't even invented until late in the 19th century. Consequently we have no way of measuring a major shift in the heat index. While we might know how hot it was in Dallas the day JFK was killed, we have no idea how hot it was the day Caesar was stabbed to death. |
| Fourth, Temperature measuring devices are
often persuaded to give false temperatures
throughout the seasonal variations because of
where they were placed. For example, one device
was put on the asphalt, and between two tall
buildings. In the summer it recorded higher
temperatures because the sun was coming straight
through the center of those two buildings. In
spring it was warmer in the mornings, in the
fall it was warmer in the afternoons, and when
winter got there it was in the shade most of the
time. Fifth, on top of all those variations, Different readings can be significantly hotter or colder on the very same day if they are obtained at spots as near as one mile away. Most of us have thermometers in our classy vehicles today and thereby have noted the variations in the temperature from mile to mile, and sometimes even as close as from one block to the next. We are also told that Global Warming is caused mainly by the steep spike of carbon emission in the air. “The result is, the air gets warmer, the weather patterns change drastically, and the natural cycle of the environment is disrupted.” If there was any truth in this statement then the temperature in Los Angeles would have increased by 30% in the past 20 years while in places like Guymon Oklahoma it should have remained the same over the past 20 years. About 59 years ago the French people built a device that produced electricity by riding the waves rushing to the shore. 5 years later “prominent scientists” were insisting that they could already sense the rotation of the earth slowing down. I forget what dire calamities we were warned that was going to produce, but they were similarly awesome compared to what we are being warned about because of Global Warming – but that does remind me that 63 years ago we were being warned by “prominent scientists” that the earth was about to enter an ice age. Saturday I was at the library and there, for all to see and worry about, was this scientific proof that the gas being produced in the intestines of cows was having a significant impact on Global Warming. “We must quit eating beef” was the message found at the bottom. If there is any truth in that message then the real cure is to begin killing whales and doing away with elephants before their intestinal disruptions start impacting the weather at our north and south poles. How many more “prominent scientists” will surge forward with parabolical theories before we wise up? Several scientific studies have been financed by the Government in hopes of being able to fully understand the effects of global warming on earth. At the same time, other scientists have been financed by the Government to develop new technologies to counter the effects of climate change. The Federal Government already provides incentives to greener households and companies. President Obama is eager to finance other studies as well. He actively participates in addressing the effects of climate change. Several of our states also create environmental policies and new environmental rules and regulations to reduce carbon emission. The theory is that since the United States is the number one contributor of greenhouse gases in the world, it is only fair that our poor government should be the first to act on reducing carbon emissions. Polls indicate that 3 of 4 American believe
that the government is not doing enough to
address this issue. Those polls did not ask how
many out of every 4 wanted to donate their own
money in order to finance “advancements!” My own
poll shows that 3 out of every 4 of those polled
by scientific societies want to donate all of MY
money and some of yours to finance these
advancements. If Global Warming is a reality then it obviously comes from the heat generated by the units air conditioning our homes and workplaces, by maintaining our refrigerators and freezers, and by heating our homes inside when it is naturally cool outside. This is easily proven simply by sticking up scientifically accurate thermometers where the exhaust fans are located. The solution would be just as simple. All we have to do is insulate the scientific community and all those that can be swayed and persuaded by these gifted parties inside an atmospheric bubble, and let them prove the Theory of Evolution is true.
