Stories With A Moral Or Two
That You Can Still Read
To Your Children
Let's meet our prime suspect for the role of
villain..
- It's been so long since he brushed his teeth that now they
are almost yellow.
- His hair is never combed, his tail is full of cockleburrs
and he is always howling about something.
- He thinks he is smarter than you are, and
he will try or say anything to grab your children away from you.
- Cast the Big Bad Wolf in the role of a school bully that
WILL get his come-uppance if his victims know who he is and
contrive ways to defeat him.
- It is usually perfectly okay to come right out and say:
"Now, remember this little trick if the Big Bad Wolf ever comes
knocking at your door when I'm not around."
Now it's time to gather your family around you, bring out the
buttered pop corn and turn the lights behind you way down low.
Wait until everyone is very quiet and still, then HOWL.

Just remember to howl in all the right places
and children will be delighted with your efforts. If you aren't comfortable with your current story-telling skills

The Skull
This is one to chew on and wrestle with. It was first
written by Phillip K. Dick and today it has been contributed to and
changed by Lin Stone.
Plot: Conger had agreed to kill a stranger he had never seen.
But he would make no mistakes because he carried the stranger's
skull under his arm. It is science that claims we can only
live once, and it is science too that says we can't change anything
when we go back in time. Conger knew that science proves
itself wrong 140 times a year. Therefore he wrapped the skull up in
a towel and thrust it into a bag for safe keeping. The skull was all
he had for identification; but it didn’t matter, he always got his
man when a contract came his way. Protect

The family is the basic building block of society and nothing
strengthens the joy of having a family more than being able to tell
or read fine
stories to your children, especially if there is a pithy little
moral tucked away at the end of the story that they can understand,
and you can appreciate.
