Stuttgart is still a farm-based community; being the rice capital of the world, how could we not be.  But, don't let that fool you, we are much more than that.  We have some great little shopping strips, little restaurants that are BIG on taste, a good work industry, wonderful schools and of course, some of the best hunting grounds in the world. 

Stuttgart may be a small town, but it is the only place I'll ever call home.  You'll love it too, so bring your family and come visit.

 The Arts Center
of The Grand Prairie

The Arts Center of The Grand Prairie is one of the Crown Jewels of the region.  Headed up by Charles (Chuck) Law and funded mostly by local contributions, the Center not only shows off great art, it sponsors numerous workshops for those who want to enhance the artistic talents they have. 

Chuck's REAL JOB is that of a professor at UALR and is able to convince some of the best minds graduating from there to come show off their skills at Stuttgart.

In 2004 the Center was instrumental in bringing Elizabeth Chardonnet and John Dahistrand (better known as Millenia Music) to Stuttgart for a command performance.  Elizabeth plays the harp.  She was awarded a gold medal in 1990 at the National School of Music of Le Mans for her talent.  John has won numerous competitions and honors both in and out of the Indiana University School of Music.

The Mosiac Jazz Trio (John Glover, Perry Israel, and Joe Vick) performed here in December of 2004.  In January of 2005 Carolyn Brown, the principal flutist with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, and Carl Anthony, Professor of Piano and Theory at the University of Central Arkansas, appeared here as the Dionysus Duo.  On February 28th. Donald Creer appeared with Amy Law accompanying on the piano.  Donald has been acclaimed as one of Little Rock's most demanded vocalists.  He has impeccable diction and golden tones.  Many awards have been showered upon him.  He is known for performing at Education Association meetings and rallies.  On May 13th The Pangolins Steel Drum Band performed.  Chuck Law founded the band in 1999 as an outreach/educational group of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's percussion ensemble.  This diverse group shares one common belief, and that is that making music is FUN!

Art workshops are an ongoing event at the Center.  Groups of children are brought there to learn and train in the arts and crafts field.  Each class is introduced to challenges specifically developed for that age.   Art, leather, model building and now ceramics too, are taught in a dedicated environment to widen their horizons and elevate their potential.  Each class is limited in size to insure individual attention.  Parents of gifted children can call 870-673-1781 to begin the enrollment process.

Chuck Law has built his own home in Stuttgart, and now has plans for building a home here for his father to move into.
