The diorama of the early morning duck hunt
lets visitors look and feel as if they are right in the middle of everything.

The only thing missing is that rush of cold morning air.

Nobody really noticed the revolutionary changes
when rubber-tired tractors arrived on the scene, but
it was like adding knights to the chess pieces on the board.

Suddenly the farmer could almost leap from field to field.
Housewives or their children could go flying off to the country store.
The family garden blossomed out big enough to feed the community.

Yes, rubber-tired cars were already there,
but not in abundance, and anyway --
cars were just for going somewhere, while tractors were for doing something.

Cars couldn't help you dig a ditch or thresh the grain
Cars were for dress-up occasions and tractors were for work!
