| Yes, it is time to dig those waders out of the
garage and find that heavy duty parka you bought a couple years ago. As the
leaves are falling, and the days are getting shorter, Christmas might be
just around the corner but there is something else some of us just have to
do first...Last minute duck hunting preparations. So head down to the store
and grab a couple boxes of shells and those state and federal duck stamps,
because duck season is now open and mother nature has been good to us duck
hunters so far this year. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission have been counting the ducks and checking their list twice (See bottom of article for the "Duck count numbers") and the verdict's in....... The reason he gives for that thought is down here in the heart of rice and soybean farming in Arkansas, farmers are changing their farming practices by making fewer sweeps across fields when they harvest their crops.
