The Alaska Range separating the coastal regions from the tundra prairies of the interior is nearly 400 miles long.  Found in South Central Alaska it is best known for its icy caps, sprawling summits and moving glaciers. It is crowned by the highest mountain in North America, Mount McKinley (20,320 ft.).
