(Palatine is in Illinois while Salem and North Vernon are in Indiana)
| Dr. Jones has supervised and taught Master degree candidates in counseling at
the University of Mississippi and at Northeastern Illinois. He has organized and taught
parent and teacher groups, focusing on encouragement skills, communications and human
relations. He has also been a head basketball, baseball and golf coach, as well as
teaching psychology, physical education, health, art and (of all things) driver education.
He appeared on WBBM-TV (CBS) in Chicago on the talk show "Common Ground" and has
been on several radio shows as well. Oh, one more thing before I pass on to publishing
credentials, Dr. Jones is also classified as an Expert Witness. His first book entitled Keep in Touch was published by Prentice-Hall. Dr. Jones has published numerous articles in Athletic Journal and Scholastic Coach magazines. His specialty has been communication skills, research, motivation and encouragement, as well as evaluation procedures and public relations. He has the gift of improving those verbal and written communications which affect the credibility of any organization. "One on one, or in groups, I specialize in assisting people interested in becoming more effective in their interaction with other people." is a clear statement of his capacity as an instructor, a counselor, and as a friend. Norman L. Jone's second book Performance Management in the 21st. Century can be studied here, now. Dr. Jones's book fulfills the need for research on leadership, management, motivation, and human development. It reveals how businesses and other institutions have suffered due to neglect of those very skills. His third book, Growing UP in Indiana has been the most successful so far. It presents a vivid picture of the racial strife America endured in the 20th century. Here Norman writes about the trials and tribulations he encountered as a young boy trying to become an accomplished player at Marion High School. Marion has won seven state basketball championships. Growing UP in Indiana is the compelling story about a player trying to earn a college basketball scholarship. |
