The oldest company I have found was
lost in 1880.
Years after he was gone, someone found an
old, tattered policy, and said: "I wonder if
anyone can track this company down?"
I started out just needing to find four
companies that had insured my dad
Then -- one company at a time, for tens of thousands of different individuals,
I have made it almost a personal vendetta and tracked down the changes in
life insurance company names and entities so that people in desperate straits
could get paid.
It's really been exciting:
Most people I work with only have two, three or four thousand dollars
coming, but at least one family that I helped had two hundred and
fifty thousand dollars coming to them.

The first thing you want to do now
is: CALL the company.
If your company has been absorbed, merged or assimilated then it
is possible that the person answering the phone won't know what
you are talking about.
FIRMLY ASK FOR A SUPERVISOR to help you. |
If you get brushed off, then it is
time to write a letter to the company.
