Every writer dreams of having a book published, someday. Of all those who so dream, less than 1% of those with enough courage to actually try will ever reach their goals. 

Out of that 1%, for every D. Steele making millions, there are thousands of B. Steeles left stifling their sobs in the dust.  In other words, If you make more than a thousand dollars out of your book being published in conventional form, you've done very good indeed.

So, why shouldn't you publish your own ebook?  
Why bother with any publisher at all?

PayPal used to be pretty good, but I no longer recommend it for anything or anyone.  Now please understand this, I still collect a lot of money through PayPal and I've never had any complaints about payments made through PayPal.  But when it comes to sending an author there? I shudder at the thought of having to walk them through the setting up process.

What About Book Rights?

The only rights required by Browzer Books are the NON-EXCLUSIVE electronic Rights needed to produce a Browzer Books version. Those rights run for a period of 3 years after which reverting AUTOMATICALLY to the author. 

ALL other rights remain with the author.  You can keep right on looking for a conventional publisher, and use ebook sales to prove your book is a moneymaker for them.  Just don't be surprised when more money from your ebook goes into your pockets than you get from selling a hard copy.

The author is also responsible for securing the copyright and ISBN number for the book IF IT IS DESIRED.

I want to make clear that ISBN numbers have nothing to do with copyright and nothing to do with the Library of Congress. In essence, they are granted by a private concern in New Jersey that came up with a standardization system that helps bookstores order books by a single ten digit code (now twelve digit). That's it. But with computer inventory systems built around ISBNs, the number seems more important to authors.   Note, If you secure an ISBN number for your ebook it does mean you can offer the ebook through Amazon.com, etc..
